The Parish
Church of St Paul is situated in the tiny village of Healey in
the Burn Valley, some three miles west of the market town of
Masham, itself about ten miles north of the Cathedral City of
Ripon.
Much of the
area surrounding Healey forms part of the Swinton Estate.
Agriculture still dominates the district but is in decline.
The specialty food producer, Rosebud Preserves provides a
successful cottage industry in Healey, sending its products
throughout the U.K.
and across the
United States.
Masham is
famous for its two breweries, T. & R. Theakston and Black Sheep.
Tourism is
becoming increasingly popular and Healey is within the
Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
